We all know how to live a healthy life, we just don't do it. We would rather go on a bar crawl than go to bed at 9pm and we would rather have a burger than go for a run. What if we actually followed the advice of many an expert? We would probably feel amazing. It's not rocket science, it is as 'simple’ as following the below rules (read recommendations).

  1. Get between 6 to 9 hours sleep. This is the time when our bodies repair and our brains store the information from the day.

  2. Drink 2 litres of water a day. Dehydration leads to lethargy and depression.

  3. Avoid caffeine. Leads to a crash 30 mins later creating a roller coaster of ups and downs when used to keep you going throughout the day.

  4. Avoid too much alcohol. It is actually a depressant, not great for anyone who is predisposed to lows.

  5. Exercise for 30 mins 3 times a week. Produces endorphins that give one a high and relieves pain.

  6. Eat every 3-4 hours to keep sugar levels balanced. Sugar lows and highs lead to lethargy and low mood.

All of the above have been scientifically proven to reduce depression and increase energy. I challenge you to follow the above for 5 weeks (the time it takes to develop a habit). I will be attempting the challenge myself, update to follow.
